Salomon Shogun Ski Details

This ski was designed in part by Mark Abma. You can see him describing the ski in the video above. There are 2 factory marked mounting points on the Shogun. The forward-most mounting point is designed for park skiers and freeskiers who are looking for a mount that is closer to center. The rear mounting line is best for big mountain skiers and anyone else who doesn't expect to be spinning around a lot.

What Type of Ski is the Salomon Shogun?

The shogun is designed to be a great all mountain ski that is strong in the terrain park. With 101 mm under foot, this ski works well in powder and crud snow.

There is a small amount of reverse camber/rocker in the tip which also helps the skis performance in powder snow. The Salomon Shogun makes for a great 1 ski quiver that will work on just about any day. This ski is getting great reviews from all of the ski magazines and you can expect to see the Shogun in Salomon's product line for several years to come.

Salomon Shogun Materials

The Shogun's wood core incorporates a layer of Bamboo that makes the ski quick and reactive for short radius turns. There is also Basalt material inside of the ski that acts as a damper. This layer makes the ski more stable and drastically improves its performance in tough conditions.
