Lens and Frame

The Oakley Jawbone lens system takes the needs of athletes into consideration at a level that the sports world has never seen before. These lenses incorporate 2 types of technology that you won't find in any other band of sunglasses; Switchlock lens technology, and the floating lens suspension system.

With the Switchlock system, athletes can change their lenses in just a matter of seconds. The nose piece will pivot and the bottom piece of the Oakley frame will open up and allow the lenses to be changed.

Oakley has incorporated a lens suspension system that is designed to reduce distortion and increase clarity when the sunglass frame is put under stress. As the frame flexes and bends, the lens is allowed to float and move a small amount within the frame. This prevents the lens from bending or curving and helps to maintain the highest clarity in your vision.

Lens Surface

Oakley uses a Hydrophobic coating on the surface of these lenses. This coating helps to prevent any streaks on your lenses from moisture. This includes moisture from fingerprints, sweat and rain. While Oakley has made it much simpler and quicker to change the lenses of these sunglasses, it can still be very difficult to do without touching the lens surface at all. The Hydrophobic coating helps athletes to switch lenses without having their field of view obstructed by fingerprints.
