Vail has plenty of beginner terrain on the front side of the mountain, but there are black diamonds scattered throughout the mountain so you need to be sure that you know where you are going. Lionshead Mountain has lots of intermediate terrain with beginner and expert trails running throughout the area. If you are a true beginning skier, you should stick to the Golden Peak base area where all of the easiest ski terrain is located. You can see this area pictured in the photos below.
